Restorative Yoga and Deep Relaxation

Traditionally the way that yoga was taught was ‘hatha’ which means forceful. In this way yoga can train the body and the mind to be powerful and strong but not necessarily to relax. A more feminine or life-embracing way to practice yoga is to go with the flow rather than to force the flow. In this restorative yoga practice with Katie Manitsas we will spend time deeply listening to our bodies and moving them slowly in a way that is truly relaxing, nurturing and responsive. We will engage rather than dismiss our senses and the feedback our bodies give us. You’ll feel deeply rejuvenated and energetically restored. This style of yoga activates the parasympathetic nervous system which helps us to rest and digest. We will end our practice with a long guided Yoga Nidra relaxation.
